With regard to “Subversive May”, we want to express our solidarity with the inmates in front of the walls of Tegel Prison and loudly with them. In the jails there are also comrades that make it again and again to establish connections to other inmates and our struggles.

These connections are important in order not to forget the desire for freedom in the hearts of the state and continue to fight for it. The people in these dungeons are the result of a society that aims at the violent and mass discipline of the people. The recently published news of a planned extension of the “shelter” for detainees in secure detention in Tegel is therefore part of this authoritarian logic. We take this day , as we are “free”, to smash the prison system and support those who are locked up and their struggles.  To bring down the power relations and any prison wall!

In Turin and Trento, 14 people are accused of forming a subversive association, inciting crime, and possessing, manufacturing and transporting explosives to a public place. Furthermore, the operation “Scripta Manent”, where the public prosecutor’s office demands a total of 204 years in prison for the attacks of the Informal Anarchist Federation and the operation “Panico”, where 3 companions are accused of having attacked a fascist library with an explosive device, is still running.

Those who have decided to oppose any domination in the social conflict must live with the constant uncertainty of sooner or later being held accountable for their own actions by the opponents of freedom and self-determination. The idea and the longing of a society liberated from exploitation and oppression should thus be nipped in the bud.

This is especially the case for the anarchist movement in Italy. This is being tackled by the state. The affected vehicles* are to be buried alive in their cells with draconian judgements. Their accomplices* and the solidary environment unequivocally profess their permanent enmity against the regime with regard to their kidnapping. The understanding of an anarchism that has set itself the goal of fundamentally criticizing, denouncing and attacking society and its morals of alienation and incapacitation also has an international component. Therefore, the responsibility and solidarity for companions* who fall into captivity lies with all those who recognize themselves in the will to subvert and the ideas of freedom. Yes, the lived subversion puts us in danger, but it also gives us the liberating possibility and moments of self-empowerment and self-determination.

While Niccolò, arrested on 7.02.2019 in Turin as part of the “Scintilla” (link to actforfree.nostate.net)  repressive operation, who for some days had not been in the AS2 (“high security 2”) section of Ferrara prison but in a “normal” section, was transferred  on 19.03.2019 to Ivrea prison (in the province of Turin). We recall that they are no longer accused of having established or participated in a “subversive association” (article 270 of the penal code), but on charges related to specific facts.

Through this call we want to expand the single day of the anarchist 1st May 2019 in Berlin to a full month of solidarity.
The decision of which form the solidarity will take (information events, discussions, direct attacks) lies within the conflictuality of the individuals themselves and the context in which they are moving in.

There are many faces of the daily misery within the current society(/the story of the daily misery has many faces): People being forced out of their living spaces due to the capitalist commodification of housing; people are labelled “illegal” because some fucking paper is declared “invalid”; bored faces staring at their smart phone like zombies, while in their precarity they go to work to barely keep their heads above water; or the ones behind prison walls, because they didn’t play by the rules of the state and the capital.
The current societal structure is built on borders and papers, on control, surveillance and prison. It builds upon the daily exploitation and estrangement, on money, property and hierarchy/rule/power.
With this daily misery each and everyone tries to cope in some way, whether through social numbing, through dopamine release by the use of computers/handies and socialmedia, through drugs and partying, or finding any other occasional loophole to escape the misery at least partially.

The anarchist proposal against this daily misery and the society which becomes a prison under open sky is insurrection/revolt/rebellion! The proposal of self-organisation, direct attack and of individual and collective revolts is not referring to mere reaction, but rather to going on an offensive strategy, that directs its attacks against the state actively.

As we take back this years’ 1st of may in Berlin on behalf of the anti-authoritarians and anarchists, we propose to expand this day to a full month. It’s the proposal to take our dreams to reality through direct action or\and the accumulation of attacks.
The direct propaganda for a world without exploitation and repression declares itself the enemy to all those who profit and protect the rule/power/reign, against the police in uniform and the wannabe-police in form of “concerned” conform citizens, against the courts, the banks, the bosses, the fascist on the streets and behind desks, against any politics of this society and the reformist left.

As the enemy against the prison- and deportation-machinery and against the technological “progress “, which helps to create a society that is a prison without walls.
The idea and the desire of societies based upon, free agreement and self-determination without any state or hierarchical structures exists across borders and walls. Nevertheless, and exactly because of that, repeatedly anarchists find themselves (locked on the ground)/put into handcuffs, on trial, on the run or in prison.
And it is not uncommen that the state tries to defame these people as terrorists to isolate them (and especially the urge for a world far from the capitalist logic) from society.

The following is an incomplete list of recent cases of repression in Europe:

– In Italy the government (with its fascist minister president) takes targeted actions against anarchists with multiple massive police-operations:

– with the operation “panico” 3 anarchists got arrested in Florence

– in February 14 people in Torino and Trent got arrested and accused to have built a subversive organisation ,incitement of crimes, as well as possession ,manufacturing and transmission/spreading/distribution of explosives to a public space

– at this point the provisional sentence in the “scripta manent” trial got spoken. The court asks for 204 years in prison in whole (between 6 to 30 years for the different accused)

– on the 29 of January an anarchist comrade got arrested on the streets in Zurich and put into pre-trial detention. The accusations: Incitement of crimes connected with the struggle against new prisons, arson attacks on swiss military cars, as well as on a police radio tower. Another comrade is on the run from police persecution since two years because of the latter.

– in Basel 18 people got charged (15 sentenced) for having attended a demonstration in June 2016, in which several attacks took place. Among others against the party headquarters/offices of the racist SVP, a USB bank branch, several insurances and the criminal court whereas bottles and stones got thrown at the advancing police.

– since April 2016 the anarchist Lisa is in jail(first in Germany and now in Spain) because of being accused for bank robbery in Aachen.

– already since 1992 the anarchist Thomas Meyer-Falk is in jail(currently in the JVA Freiburg) because he got sentenced for bank robbery. The German state keeps him in jail for the so called preventive detention.

– the comrade Loic from France is kept in pre-trial detention in Hamburg . He is accused of having participated in an angry mob during the g-20, which went through the Elbchausee and attacked all sorts of properties of rich people, the court and capitalist infrastructure.

– by April the 29th the trial against 12 anarchists in Belgium starts. They are accused of 14 different crimes concerning attacks predominantly in context with the struggle against a deportation camp and the construction of a new prison in Brussels.

Active solidarity with all accused and sentenced anarchists means to continue having the dream of a world without hierarchy in our hearts and express it practically. So the spark continues to enflame more hearts!

FREEDOM ALWAYS COMES WITH A KNIFE CLENCHED BETWEEN THE TEETH

Look around you, but do it with your own eyes. Do you see how the planet has become a giant industrial dump? Do you see how the States are choking your minds and bringing war and massacres everywhere? Do you see how everything around us is based on the exploitation and oppression of millions of people? Can you still keep track of the millions of deaths that give rise to all skyscrapers, supermarkets and factories? The hungry, the drowned, the massacred, the bombarded, the tortured, the intoxicated, do you see all these mountains of corpses?

Perhaps. Because everything is made so that you to see nothing. You are exploited at work, you fulfill tasks of which the meaning escapes you, without the minimum satisfaction. You help produce harmful objects, toxic food, tools of death, useless goods. You keep a close eye on your fellow man, keeping him on a leash through bureaucracy, documents, benefits. You are controlled in every moment of your life, followed by thousands of cameras, numbed by thousands of drugs and distractions. You are rotting on the inside, since you live with and thanks to technological devices that dominate you. You don’t even want anything that is not already pre-formatted, you no longer desire anything that is not already displayed on a screen. Ultimately, you do nothing but obey.

Itis to you that these words are addressed. Because we also recognize ourselves in this dark picture. It takes courage to look things in the face, to be able to look at oneself in the mirror. What have we become?

The enemies of freedom are strong. The State has at its disposal means of coercion and control (from the police force to the army, from prison to school, from bureaucracy to courthouses). The capitalists never stop the progress of enhancing exploitation. The researchers add a new bar every day to our technological cage. The politicians, religious bosses, the intellectuals in the service of order keep control over the human herds.

But look, nothing is completely lost. From the bottom of our hearts, we are convinced of this. Because quite different things also catch our eye. Yesterday, it was entire regions which rose up to the cry of freedom; today a wave of revolt is sweeping through France and elsewhere. Handfuls of insurgents are launching attacks in all corners. Police barracks are burning. Companies are burning. Construction sites of new horrors are burning. Institutions are burning. Laboratories are burning. Relay antennas are burning. Rage is showing its teeth.

Nothing is completely lost. Each individual holds within them the choice to rise up. Alone or with others, but always confronting power, struggling. It is the challenge of freedom that awakens an affronted dignity, a trampled life, a shattered dream. This is why anarchists fight, as enemies of all power, to re-awaken freedom, a freedom that will come with a knife clenched between the teeth.

At the end of January 2019, in mountainous Switzerland, an anarchist was thrown in prison. He is accused of having incited revolt against power, and of having acted against the State, militarism and war, specifically by burning ten vehicles of the Swiss army on the military base of Hinwill in 2015 and by setting fire to a police network antenna in Zurich in 2016.

The anarchist who has been taken hostage by the State is our comrade. In solidarity with him, we continue to combine liberating thought with destructive acts, never losing sight of our enemy. In solidarity with all anarchists facing repression, we continue onwards on the revolutionary paths of the only war worth fighting: the war against all oppressors and exploiters, the war for freedom. Let’s give life the exquisite elevation of the rebellion of our hands and spirits.

The newspaper project in hand Fantasma is an expression of this search. It arised from the circumstance of involuntary but self-chosen clandestinity and is for that regard not bound by place.We, the authors, foster the desire as made-invisibles to talk about this be-invisible. About lived experiences and considerations in this situation. From us, as from other comrades – and that would be extremly wonderful – that find themselves on such a journey right now or have once. And because the invisible can not exist without its counterpart, we encourage all the visibles, that have been indirectly affected by a situation like this, to send in your self-written contributions. To put the reflections and initiatives, away from concrete, technical questions, up for a public debate and thus open up a space for discussions and exchange with all interested. The desire to bring back to life the in all directions extending demystification of clandestinity, from the illusion of the wild and spectacular rebel-life (a fiction of Hollywood with its usual cast, consisting of protagonists and spectators) to that illusion of the anxious-paranoid vagabond-lifes. Definitely theres moments full of wild enthusiasm and the urge for action. As well as full of doubts and desperation. But either of these sides only build the black/white frame which holds together the many different shades of grey that we are made of. To mistake this frame as the whole and let it be a fixed picture would only lead to a reduction of this complex life with all its tangles to the replicated spectacle with already prefabricated fixed pictures and roles.

The desire to highlight, through this instrument of communications, all of the hidden capabilities of the individual, their autonomy, their endless room to maneuver and to define it as a starting point for a revolutionary transformation of society. It does not matter in which specific situation one finds itself right now.

The state persecutor the finger showing, we hope to be able to contribute with this paper to the anarchist project and to grow with it. But to make this humble project known and spread it all over the place, we are dependent on the solidarity of the visibles. Unfortunately our situation does not allow to find you, get to know you, to talk from eye to eye, present our projects at an info/talk or else. So we call on you to copy and spread this irregular appearing paper. To give it into the prisons and the last corners of this society, so that it can be part of a antiauthoritarian debate in view of a social revolution, across the borders of visibility and encourage to subversive action.
