About Us

The Campaign Against Patriarchy (CAP) was started in summer 2022 by some FLINTA*s who came together after the second VV on sexualised violence in Berlin. We thought of organizing this campaign because there is a lack of response towards patriarchal violence in our self-organized spaces. Those spaces present themselves as anti-racist, free of sexism and against queer violence, but when we are confronted with these kind of violent encounters, most of the people inside of these spaces react by trivializing it or with avoidance. This often happens because of trauma, ignorance and/or privilege.

Call outs of patriarchal violence are often done by FLINTA* people while it is clearly a problem that should be addressed by the whole community, especially when this violence is mostly perpetrated by cis-men.
Patriarchal violence is not an incident, it’s structural and none of us should tolerate it, nor reproduce it!
We also don’t have to invent the wheel because there are concepts, strategies for action and support groups with experience. These groups have waiting lists which is a sign that we should take the responsibility and spread the knowledge ourselves.

Sharing knowledge, organizing discussions and workshops is not something that only experts can do. Instead it should be a tool accessible to the community that wants to self-organize, without the boundaries of having a higher education or a certain economic class.

The main idea of this campaign is to build up a network with different communities to dismantle patriarchy effectively and collectively through education and practice. We see this as a political strategy within a queer-feminist fight. By creating a space where we all meet, learn, share and exchange from different practices and experiences, we can afterwards replicate them in our private and political spaces.

So, if you are interested in sharing knowledge, organizing with a community mindset and within the space of CAP, feel free to contact us.
