Walking practice

Physically walking means to move at a regular pace by lifting and setting down each foot in turn, never having both feet off the ground at once.
But walking can also be a cultural practice; a tool to (re)gain territory, a tool to meet objects and persons and architecture; a way of recreation; a procrastination method and obviously a way to travel.

On Saturday, 1st June we are inviting you once again for a collective walk.
We will move from the project space disorientation in Bremen to the Künstler*innenhäuser Worpswede. An orientation of motion more or less towards north, out of the urban, through the rural space, into a village. The scale of the section will be a daily distance.
At dawn 4 o’clock a first group is setting of (participants can sleep in disorientation from Friday to Saturday); a second group starts their walk at 10 in the morning.
On Saturday evening we are going to cook and eat together at Künstler*innenhäuser Worpswede. In the sense of a „one-day-residency“ we will get the possibility to use the infrastructure there and spend the night till Sunday.

Digesture

Food practice

“Digesture” is a culinary imaginary exchange format that deals with sharing sensorial, cultural, symbolic or practical knowledge related to food, feeding and eating.

How much do we know about the things we ingest? And how much do we digest the things we know? How we cook and where do we know that from? Where do the ingredients come from and what other than eating them are they there for? How about the gestures?

The three artist-researchers-foodies invite Bremeners over to sign up and put on the plate the hows, whats, whens, with whoms of our/their eating and culinary behaviours. Literally we will cook, read, talk and make sounds around food and eating. The two prolonged afternoons will be sonified over a broadcast to Radio Angrezi.

The participants could bring cooking tool, ingredients, secret stories they want to share and to be ready to scrutinise their food insights with others.

A workshop in how to communicate secretly over any media using nothing more than taking time to share some special time together. Used very effectively by former fluffy groups such as Irish Republican Army and Palestine Liberation Organization.

Consent is a method to communicate needs, boundaries and wishes while having sex, but also a method for your non-sexual life.
During this workshop we will playful (role play) and practical come close to the topic consent (sexual consent) and deal with the following questions: What does consent actually mean? How can i do consent? How can i give space for honest questions and answers? How can i dare to ask? What are the positive and negative aspects of consent? How is consent connected to power relations?

The witch – Is she just a historical figure or does every woman* possess a potential for witchcraft? The figure of the witch is experiencing a worldwide revival – both as a symbol in feminist movements and as a trope within the arts.

How can we reappropriate and reassign the qualities and attributions that are associated with the witch to empower ourselves today? Should we be afraid of the witch or can she* teach us agency and strategies for resistance?

In the workshop we will reflect personal experience and explore the theoretical and social analyses of feminist scholars such as Silvia Federici. We will experiment with the practices of performance, body work and text production. No background knowledge required.

Bending Gender

Bending Gender is a research about gender socialisation with methods from contact improvisation, play-fight, bonding and holding and authentic movement. We want to reflect on inhabited norms while moving, playfully fighting and witnessing.

CARTE BLANCHE (white marble mistakes)

Workshop and Lecture Performance

Departing from observations about lineages of the white marble sculpture from antiquity to the renaissance — their influence on representations of whiteness as well as the facilitation of contemporary white supremacist thought and idealised white (male) bodies (co-opted as trophies of the mythical aryan) — we navigate questions surrounding bodies which sit idealised in collective consciousness — the youthful, hetero normative cis and white — and individual bodies with their capabilities, limitations, sensualities etc. shaped and determined by subjectives.

We would like to first introduce our work from Livorno in the form of an artist talk with performative elements. following this we will engage in collective bodily movement practices with the participants to understand the body — ones own as well as a group of bodies as instruments that resonate and are able to speak back to situations that need dissent.

From there we will contemplate the sea as a body which carries history. as a substance, water remembers. for the purposes of this presentation, we would like to focus on how seawater remembers movements of migration, escape and colonial violence. we might go on to approach an understanding of the sea as a primordial body, and therefore postulate that marble — as a 400 million-year-old stone made of shells, corals and other sea sediments — also carries these same violent memories.
